THE RECRUITMENT COMMITTEE
NEEDS YOUR HELP!

We are embarking on an 'Operational Improvement Plan' (OIP) during 2009 to help generate much needed profits and reduce operational expenses in several areas of our club. This will help secure our club’s long term financial stability!  You will be hearing more about this in the upcoming weeks and months, but at this time we are forming committees that will be reviewing the ACCOUNTING, MARKETING, KITCHEN, BEVERAGE and MAINTENANCE areas of our club's current operational structure. I am also heading up the RECRUITMENT committee, which also needs some more committee members to begin its full function.

If you have any expertise in any of the areas noted above, and can devote some time to helping us as a committee member, we sure could use your help now, more than ever.  As you can see there is a wide variety of knowledge needed so I am sure there is a place for you! We are a membership of around 500 members, with roughly 50 of us trying to run all aspects of club operations.  We are seriously in need of any help you can provide; Your time and expertise would be greatly appreciated!

If we can count on your help with this much needed operational improvement, and you are willing to be committee member, please contact John Barassi of the Recruitment committee; 510-700-2171, or email jbarassi@yahoo.com. We are looking for 5-6 members for each committee, and any help you can give us at this time will be greatly appreciated.

New Reservation System

The new system will allow you to make reservations by phone or email, whichever you prefer. The phone reservations will no longer go to our Club phone line - they will be directed to a voice mail box.

Please have your reservations in by 3pm on the posted date. We really need your help on this!

The reason for this is to get a more accurate count of guests for each dinner so that we can have the correct amount of food on hand. Based on advance reservations and past history, food will be ordered for a certain number of diners for each event. In the future a dinner will be considered “sold out” when the reservation total reaches the amount of food ordered for that event. Each event will have only one person handling reservations, that person will be your sole contact for reservations and will be in the ticket window when you come to pick up your tickets! The goal here is to minimize the miscommunication that plagued our old system. Thanks in advance for your understanding in this very important matter.

We have made a change to our dining room dress code; It is now OK to wear shorts to our Birthday Dinners. Please use good common sense and wear shorts that are knee length and keep in mind that the “no tank tops” rule is still in affect (Men only).

Our Family dinners will also have and new addition. We will be playing a “G” rated movie after dinner in the clubroom for the kids to watch while the parents spend some time dancing. This has been something we have talked about for years and now the DVD player is finally in place and the first move has been selected - The Princess Bride will be the feature move this month. Parents, we have music by D. J. Vince this month and the dance floor will be lot’s of fun but please remember, if you do leave you children to watch the movie, don’t forget to check in on them once and a while to make sure everything is OK.

HELP! The club needs you. We have over 500 members and over 400 newsletters are being mailed every month. Do you have access to the web? Do you have an email address? Please help us out by getting our monthly newsletter from our website and not the US Mail. It costs many volunteer hours every month to stuff 400 envelopes not to mention the cost of copies and postage.

Please click here and enter your name and email address to start emailing the newsletter update reminder to you every month. THANKS!

The Fratellanza Club is one of the largest social clubs in America founded by Italian pioneers for the purpose of providing a social center for themselves, their families, and their guests. The purposes of the club are entirely social in scope, dedicated to the moral and physical well-being of its members, the promotion of the best interests of the community, and the highest ideals of their American citizenship and Italian heritage. Members may reserve and/or attend the Club for Wedding Receptions, Dinners, Parties, Meetings, etc. The Club has two full bars, a large ballroom, a spacious dining hall, bocce ball alleys and much more! The rental of the Fratellanza Club must be sponsored by an active member.

Come to the club...
Have dinner, maybe a drink. Play some cards, some bocce... Or just have a conversation. Come to a members dinner, or a family dinner. When seated, make a point to meet someone new. You’ll be glad that you did.
